We have had a lot going on in the Cushing house these last two days! We've had Harper's preschool Open House, two trips to the mall (the latter of which was to return too-small shoes for him that he refused to try on in the store :), a Dr. appointment for me, a trip to Lowe's and the police station. Oh yes and capturing critters in our house. I'll get to that in a second.
We were hoping to squeeze in a haircut for Harper somewhere in there, but we just couldn't do it. He will be attending his first day of preschool with shaggy locks.
Here he is today before the Open House.

Last night while I had Jimmy working on one of our numerous projects, I spotted something near our ceiling. I squinted and realized it was a roach. (And please excuse the current state of our bedroom.)
I immediately called for my hero husband to save the day.
His solution?
A paint-roller extender
with a sock on the end
and two pantyliners wrapped around the sock for maximum roach-stickage.
He's taken ladies.

Here is the attempt..

FAIL. The roach fell to the floor. Maybe the pantyliner wrappers will stop him.

Let's bat at it with our roach stick a little more...

Success!

Today, Jimmy went to out to check the mail and found another critter ready for battle.

The baby corn snake was spared, but not before making it an impromtu science lesson.

What is that, daddy?

Oh that's nice.

Now put it back please...

Not only is my hubby a hero, he has a heart too.

So long little friend.....

You're welcome.
